How Dosage Changes Work
No — your dosage does not automatically increase each month. Dosage adjustments are made by your prescribing physician based on your progress and how you're tolerating the medication.
The Typical Dosage Journey
Most patients on tirzepatide or semaglutide follow a gradual titration schedule:
- Weeks 1–4: Starting dose (e.g., 2.5mg)
- After check-in: Doctor evaluates your response and may increase
- Ongoing: Dose adjustments continue at check-ins until reaching an effective maintenance dose
The key point: dosage increases happen at check-ins, not automatically.
Multi-Month Supplies
If you ordered a 3-month or 6-month supply:
- You may receive vials at the same strength for the entire period
- This is normal — your doctor prescribed the dosage they determined is right for you at this stage
- If you feel your dose needs adjustment, message your doctor through the portal
How to Request a Dose Increase
- Log in to your member portal
- Send a message to your doctor explaining:
- How long you've been on your current dose
- Your weight loss progress
- Any side effects you're experiencing
- Your doctor will review and respond within 1–3 business days
Do not adjust your dose on your own. Always wait for your doctor's guidance before changing how much you inject.
When Does the Check-In Happen?
Your first check-in is typically around week 4–5 of treatment. You'll receive a notification when it's time. At the check-in, you'll update your weight and answer a few questions, and your doctor will evaluate whether a dosage change is appropriate.
